Remembering My Grandpa

My Grandfather, Michael Peter Salomone Sr, passed away last Saturday. Evan and I were still visiting family on the east coast and were able to extend our trip to attend the wake and funeral. Derek had already returned to Seattle but was able to fly back to be with the family during this very sad time. (I'll spare you the gushing over what a wonderful husband he is)

We had visited Grandpa and introduced him to Evan only 5 days prior to his passing. I know he was looking forward to meeting Evan. He had jokingly "requested" a great-grandson (he has one great-granddaughter) almost exactly one year ago and he loved to track my pregnancy and then Evan's birth via this blog. He became very computer savvy in his 80s. It was a shock to all of us that everything happened so fast.

I have so many wonderful memories of Grandpa. There are so many things that will remind me of him ...... anytime I will hear a Frank Sinatra song, whenever I will watch the Yankees play, going to a Casino especially if I play Craps, a big red shiny Cadillac, and Santa hats at Christmas. I will miss him so much but will share all of my wonderful memories with Evan and that will make me smile.
