Other Highlights from August to Share
+Evan loved the Olympics. He would get into the sport of the day and be yelling and/or acting out "Jump! Jump!" for gymnastics or "Go!Go! " for running and eventually starting trying somersaults while watching gymnastics. The equestrian event had him laughing so hysterically every time a horse hurdled a jump- the funniest thing he'd ever seen.
+Evan started talking in mini-sentences (2-3 words) and pretty much mimicking almost any word you say. He loves to assign ownership to things around the house as in "Mommy's two shoes".
-Evan stopped sharing. The lovely playmate he has been for months has dissolved into a typical 2 year old who likes to hoard shared toys at the sandbox.
-Evan started temper tantrums. Enough said.
Oh yeah, and if you haven't heard I have gestational diabetes again with this pregnancy. I found out early in August at 24 weeks and its been a lot of daily work to keep my blood sugar under control. My regimen includes 4x daily blood sugar testing, 6 specific small meals at regular times every day (no snacking outside those meals) and daily exercise of 30+ minutes. All this while working and handling Evan and everything else so its a challenge to say the least. The upside is I am getting in great shape!
Derek has been working a crazy number of days this past 6 weeks so we're excited to get through the month of August and looking forward to our family vacation in late September!
