Blogging Hiatus Explained
So March was a blur of illness and April has thankfully been busy with just having fun and enjoying some patches of sun and spring.
Some updates on the kids.... Evan is talking a lot more. The most interesting things that come out of his mouth are the unexpected ones. We have a local market that we frequent and a gender-neutral looking woman served up a mac&cheese in a to go carton for Evan. Evan turned to her (unprompted by me) and said "thank you man!" and walked away. I was proud, kinda, for the thank you. I pretended that this lady? was amused and/or flattered. I'm sure better stories are yet to come.
Sophie is no longer the little baby, she's now a mobile and sure minded little person trapped in the little baby body. She remains a really solid easy going little girl and skillfully shares her opinions of what she wants and when she wants it. She's rolling and half crawling her way around the living room and generally doesnt fuss unless she gets stuck. She prefers to stay awake most of the day taking short naps (espeically compared to her brother who was Rip Van Baby when he was this age).
Derek works, I work. Melodee helps a lot. I have started playing soccer. Derek hopefully will join me soon. We look forward to visits soon from my parents, my brother in the summer (and his girlfriend we hope) and travel in the fall.
