Home to Seattle
Derek and I returned late last night to Seattle after spending most of the week in New York with my family for my Aunt's funeral. She was an amazing woman and I had many opportunities to talk with my cousins, aunts, uncles and parents about how bravely she faced her battle and how well she lived her life. Her wake and funeral service was both beautiful and heart breaking with more people than you could imagine in attendance. It was also a blessing to spend time with my family... playing with Laurie (my cousin Chris' daughter), watching my cousin Michele perform the lead in production of Follies (she rocked!), listening to my grandparents squabble about nothing..... it's hard being so far from family sometimes. It seems like the rain spell has been broken in Seattle.... I think it got up to 27 straight days of rain while we were away. I hope to see sun this week as we tackle the house and get it in shape for sale. It goes on the market in one week!
