Recap of our Arizona Trip- Babymoon and Another Baby Shower
In mid-September we had a 5 day trip to Arizona. The temperature was in the high 90s the whole time. We considered this our "babymoon" as it is our last vacation before the baby arrives. We had a great time just unwinding for hours a day, the only downside was that Derek had a pretty good head cold the entire trip.
We were able to stay at Ralph and Janice's hacienda in lieu of a hotel which was FANTASIC. They have a beautiful place and it was so quiet. We lounged by the pool and hopped in and out of the local AJ's and Starbucks during the day for food and coffee. We were also able to have dinner with friends in the evening and spent quality time with Candice and AJ one night and Val, Eric and little Abbie (she's so grown up!) another evening.
On Friday we spent most of the day at the Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont in Scottsdale. I got a massage AND facial (thanks mom and dad!) and Derek got a massage. We spent the remainder of the day at the pool, the exercise room, had a spa lunch, and I even used the eucalyptus room since I couldn't use the sauna or steam room. Derek was very Zen by the end of the day :)
On Saturday I had another wonderful baby shower. We went to a very girly and special place called Teacups and Tiaras and a small group of women (very good friends from when I lived in Arizona) joined us. It was very intimate and special. It made me miss working and living near these great ladies.
On Sunday Ralph treated us to a fabulous dinner at the Ocean Club in Scottsdale. If you are even in town and looking for a great place for both seafood (lobster was out of this world) and steak (Derek's was amazing). I highly recommend this place.
We took off first thing on Monday morning (Oh, and if you are renting a car anytime soon at Phoenix Airport leave yourself an extra 30 minutes to drop off the car because the new facility is miles away from the terminals.) and were greeted back home in Seattle to 55 degree weather and light rain.
I forgot my camera this trip so I am waiting on Val and some others to send me photos to post here on the blog.
